Established as an industry pioneer, Dongfa Printing Co., Ltd. has spent over three and a half decades perfecting the formulation, lamination, and structural integrity of industrial packaging solutions. Operating from a highly standardized GMP cleanroom facility, we specialize in high-performance liquid packaging films, retort sterilization pouches, easy-peel sealing films, and flat bottom gusset configurations.
By utilizing multi-color rotogravure printing presses integrated with state-of-the-art online optical inspection systems, we guarantee that every millimeter of flexible barrier film aligns with strict micro-tolerance specifications. This uncompromising focus on detail ensures seamless performance on automated horizontal form-fill-seal (HFFS) and vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) systems worldwide.
Unlike standard stand-up pouches, the flat bottom gusset bag (often referred to as a box pouch or block-bottom bag) features a completely flat base with four vertical gussets. This structural design provides up to 30% more usable volume relative to its shelf footprint, allowing for a much cleaner retail layout and reduced secondary packaging requirements.
Our material formulations are engineered to meet specific shelf-life metrics. We laminate high-density Polyethylene (PE) for structural sealability, oriented Nylon (NY) for puncture resistance, Aluminum foil (AL) or EVOH for absolute gas and moisture barriers, and Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) as an optimal substrate for high-fidelity rotogravure graphics.
To extend freshness after opening, we offer a range of closure systems including pocket zippers, hook-and-loop closures, slider tracks, and single-way degas valves (essential for coffee packaging). The flat top area allows for clean tear notches and micro-perforations that ensure easy, controlled opening.
In the modern commercial landscape, flexible packaging must balance two competing priorities: maintaining high barrier performance to prevent food waste, and transitioning toward recyclable, circular economies.
At Dongfa Printing, we address these challenges directly through advanced material engineering. Traditional multi-material structures can be difficult to recycle. In response, we have developed mono-material laminated structures (such as MDO-PE/PE and all-PP structures) that deliver high oxygen and water vapor barrier properties while remaining fully recyclable within standard municipal recycling streams.
Scenario A: High-Fat Pet Food Packaging
Standard plastic films are prone to grease migration, leading to outer layers delaminating and reduced shelf appeal. Our solution utilizes an inner co-extruded metallocene PE layer combined with an intermediate Nylon barrier. This structure offers excellent oil resistance and prevents grease from seeping into the gusset seals.
Scenario B: Automated High-Speed VFFS Lines
Variations in film thickness can cause issues with sealing and web tracking on packaging lines. By maintaining a strict ±3% thickness tolerance across our automated roll stock films, we help our clients maintain high packaging speeds and reduce sealing failures.
Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR): Tested under ASTM D3985 standards to maintain levels below 0.5 cc/m²/24hr for optimal preservation of oxygen-sensitive products.
Water Vapor Transmission Rate (WVTR): Tested under ASTM F1249 standards to keep moisture transmission below 0.1 g/m²/24hr, protecting dry goods from ambient humidity.
Tensile and Seal Strength: All side seals and gusset junctions undergo ASTM F88 testing to ensure they can withstand drops and pressure changes during transit.
Our manufacturing operations are built around maintaining consistent quality and hygiene. Food-grade packaging requires strict environmental control to prevent particulate and microbiological contamination. Our GMP-compliant cleanroom workshops maintain controlled temperature, humidity, and air filtration.
By combining high-speed rotogravure printing presses with solvent-free lamination systems, we eliminate trace solvent residues. This ensures that our packaging is completely odorless and meets EU and FDA requirements for direct food contact.
During production, our inline optical scanning systems inspect 100% of the moving web, flagging pinholes, color variations, and alignment issues in real time. This automated quality control process ensures that every batch delivered to your facility meets our high standards.
As environmental standards tighten in regions like the European Union and North America, flexible packaging must evolve. Dongfa is investing in next-generation material research to help brands transition toward more sustainable packaging options.
Replacing multi-layer PET/AL/PE structures with recyclable mono-PE or mono-PP laminations, maintaining essential gas and moisture barrier properties.
Developing biodegradable films derived from PLA (polylactic acid) and PHA, blended with organic barrier coatings, designed to break down in industrial composting facilities.
Integrating up to 50% Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) resins into the core layers of non-food pouches, reducing virgin plastic consumption.
Dongfa Printing maintains long-term manufacturing partnerships across key global regions, including North America, Europe, Japan, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. We provide consistent OEM/ODM production services for high-barrier packaging systems.
